Finding temporary employment should be easy. Our goal with WorkJoint is to offer a unique advantage by empowering candidates to actively market their skills and availability, attracting relevant employers directly.
Reducing the time employers spend on screening, while increasing visibility for jobseekers, improving their chances of finding roles tailored to their abilities and aspirations.

From prior discussions with the client, they presented a gap in the market that they intended to fill: the absence of a hiring solution that allows jobseekers to actively market their skills and availability. A thorough competitor analysis was then performed to evaluate similar platforms, uncovering strengths and weaknesses. To gather qualitative insights, I carried out interviews with both jobseekers and employers.

Jobseekers desire more personalized job matches
Participants expressed frustration with the restricted job opportunities on platforms like IndeedFlex (hospitality, warehouse…), highlighting the need for more robust platforms that take into account niche skills.
Employers appreciate flexible, on-demand hiring options
Similar to Airtasker, employers need flexibility in hiring, especially for temporary or gig-based roles. They preferred platforms that allow them to quickly post urgent jobs and connect with candidates who are readily available.
Jobseekers value transparency in job details and employer reviews
Users indicated a strong preference for platforms that provide clear job descriptions, including pay rates, job expectations, and reviews from other jobseekers about employers and visa versa, to help them make informed decisions.

By examining the challenges faced by both jobseekers and employers, I identified the critical need for skills-based sorting to enhance hiring efficiency. To streamline this process, jobseekers can create dynamic 'work wanted ads' that highlight their specific skills and experience. These ads will be proactively sent to employers, providing a curated selection of candidates matched to their needs.
This solution complements existing methods, such as traditional job postings and applications, creating a more direct and efficient pathway for employers to find qualified talent.
